Reddme for iPhone - A Reddit Client App Reviews

Looks great, looking forward to updates

Im hoping a few things get updated. The left bar I just want my favorite subreddits to be my defaults like Alien Blue. Also everything feels a little large. I was hoping for a better looking alien blue since it looks outdated, but its missing some of the basics that make AB great. Looking forward to updates.

Great so far

This is a great start for the first version! The app crashes every time i go to the "contact" section, when scrolling through pics in a post and a pop up happens whenever I scroll back to the left

Great Design

Nothing to complain in the design department- Reddme is easily one of the best design Reddit client on iOS. Not quite as responsive and fast as like my Reddit client to be but hopefully that can be improved over time and the same can be said of scrolling. I love the night mode although I wish it was a slightly different colour or at least better contrast between the card and the background. After months of the same old Reddit client (yes, that one with the reference to a particular colour) and as good as that app is, iOS needs a Reddit revolution and this past 3 or 4 months Ive not be dissapointed. There have been at least 4 new ones (including Reddme) that have pulled me away from Alien Blue.

Do not buy!

Abandoned by creator.

not perfectly tested before release

Its really hard to login - always getting an error. Its extremly hard to register on reddit via app especially entering the captcha text where the input field is hidden under the keyboard also there is no way to edit subreddits list. But the app has nice interface anyway - two stars for now. Nothing more.

Login Broken

I cant login. The app does not work.

Freezes and posts never loads

Been looking forward to this but it keeps freezing. Also posts never load.

Yep!

Definitely an improvement over Alien Blue!

Beautiful!

Smooth, fluid, intuitive. A stunning take on Reddit clients. 5/5 would recommend.

Visuals are great but there is much to be desired

Ive used the other two popular reddit apps an have to say this one stands out in design. Unfortunately, thats about it. Its still new so Im interested in seeing where it goes. Here are a fee changes I would like to see. Speed up or remove the loading after voting on posts/comments.Functionality to close a comment group to jump to the group below it. A way to jump to the post link. As of now, you have to go into comments then go to the link. A way to remove the app borders when looking at webpages. A tile mode for viewing picture heavy subreddits. Also there is a glitch when i view a subreddit on your rather nice sidebar where it doesnt show any posts (works for some). Good luck and I hope to seeing some updates!

Not a bad start

For a buck, its not a bad app, but needs a few more features and some polishing up. If youre a casual reddit user then this might be "just enough" for you.

Works great.

Full featured and great user interface. This is my reddit app of choice. Cant wait for universal app. 4 stars because it runs the processor a little as phone will heat up with use. Later code optimization should solve with point releases.

Not impressed

There are still two clients that are better than this one. Alien blue is still better than this one. Appadvice probably got paid to push this garbage. Paid a buck and now I know why the price is only a buck. What a waste...

Looks promising but needs a lot of work.

Its much different than alien blue, so it will take some getting used to, but so far Im digging it. Theyre missing a lot of features though that are crucial. For instance you cant see the context of a message when you get one in your inbox. Thats like a super basic thing they over looked. Might be good in future updates for for right now its not great.

Great start!

I try lots of reddit clients. I love the UI here; just perfect for this non-power user. I do want faster downloads of pics and comments, etc. though.

Disappointed

I thought this app would be awesome, but I cant up/down vote anything, and all the UI is very confusing!

Nice UI but...

it needs some help. For example, there does not seem to be a way to sort comments by new, old, best of, etc. Also there is no way to view the context of comments from your inbox. Basically this app looks pretty while it actually does very little.

My Favorite Reddit App

This is by far the best Reddit app Ive ever used. My only two suggestions for the developer is to also make it for iPad and make the reply button a little more obvious that it can be pressed. Other than that, its phenomenal.

Cool

Love how easy it is to switch between different accounts.

Really well done

After using alien blue for the last couple of months, its become apparent to me how purely functional the app is and moreover how ugly/unintuitive a lot of it is (for ex. the sliding refresh indicators that hide/show content). In looking for a replacement, I bought this app and am blown away by how thoughtful and well-designed everything is. Typography choice is excellent, the card paradigm is interesting, animation is fun/smooth yet limited, and the intro sequence seems very, very thought out (I love the glowing text that appears when the UI piece mentioned is touched). As a UI/UX designer, this is the sorta thing I hope to build someday. Plan to use this daily from here on. I do have one tiny gripe though: theres no visible way to choose the time period for hot/top after holding down the compose button for extra subreddit organization. Other than that, incredible.
